Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. Deshmukh was questioned for over 12 hours by the ED. During interrogation, the ED did not get a satisfactory reply from the former minister, thereafter he was arrested on Tuesday morning. Anil Deshmukh will be produced in the court today. His lawyer said on Tuesday that Anil Deshmukh will oppose his Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand before the court. ED has recorded his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with the alleged bribery and extortion of Rs 100 crore. In April, Deshmukh had to resign after the case of extortion surfaced.
